STS-129 = One of the best days of my life

This was my 4th Shuttle launch and my first this close.
I haven't slept in 2 days from all the driving and bated anticipation so I'll revise this soon with a more in depth review of the experience.

Watch the video below. You could feel the ground shaking as well as the waves of sound hitting your body (this occurs twice in the video, pay attention to the people cheering when it happens). Nothing compares to this. Amazing.

The culmination of all the greatest human minds. Ever. Sigh.

I'm in dire need of a haircut.
Also I need to learn to leave the studio and the library when in Florida.

My mission stickers because I'm 5.

Preflight launch radio chatter

It saddens me that there will only be 5 more Space Shuttle launches ever. This being the second to last for Atlantis and the last Shuttle mission for 2009.

I found my old journal from 2004-2005

In a random roadcase that once housed one of my turntables I found my old journal. It's about 1/3 full and most entries after the first few pages are simply lists of things to write about that unfortunately I never got around to actually writing about.

Typical right?

All of my attempts to keep records of fun things that happen to me fail. I'd rather do fun things then to laboriously document them. Although I secretly want to document everything.

Anyway here's some brief highlights.

1. Spilling my drink on Moby.

2. Squeezing into a cab with my then favorite band; The Dandy Warhols

3. Having a private (and sober) "how to be a rockstar' lecture from Courtney Taylor while everybody else around was snorting drugs

4. Confusing entries about my ex (who at the time of the entries was my ex yet I didn't accept that). It's sad to look back and realize how blind I was.

5. Multiple entries about hanging out with Anton Newcombe after work and spending hours on iTunes and YouTube.

It then jumps to a list of bullet points from 2007.
1. Working on the set of Late Night w/ Conan
2. Asking Scarlet Johanssen out on a date

prospect on youtube

My goal is to have every Prospect song on YouTube.
Well... almost every song.
For now I'm putting up the songs from the 2006 Prelude EP.

Listening to these older songs is getting me really excited about the new record!

Inspired by wormc.com I'm making a photo-diary-blog thingie.

It will be nowhere as cool, but fun to do.

Augmented Reality

We are living in the future.

The above video is real. It's from Georgia Tech University.
More information can be found here; Augmented Environments.

And another example of this technology. Not as amazing but unbelievably fun to watch.

Upon further reading on Augmented Reality technology I found this;

"Examples of how this could be used include pointing your iPhone's camera at a building and the phone telling you what building it is by combining GPS, accelerometer and compass information. The iPhone could even overlay graphics and text on top of the image to provide additional information. Another application described is the ability to show information about stars and constellations simply by pointing your iPhone towards the sky."

Whenever I wasn't working on the album I was working on this guitar.
This will be my live guitar for playing shows (next to the black locksley jazzmaster I built last summer)

Rive Magazine is a big fan of Prospect and Prospect is a big fan of Rive Magazine!

Prospect is currently the "featured artist" on rivemagazine.com

Lana

I've been listening to Lana's music since she first put up her MySpace profile in 07.
Whenever I click on the play button I'm taken somewhere else.
I don't know where, but I know I like it.

We've corresponded a few times and at one point I sent her a song I put together with her in mind. She said it reminded her of home (London) because it was dark yet cozy.

She reminds me of what I like about The White Stripes. Whatever it is that the White Stripes are missing from becoming my favorite band; she has. She has a soft voice that sharpens up at just the right moments, catchy punky hooks, fun drum beats, and the occasional call-n-response harmony thing that just elevates things to a whole new plane.

Anyhow. I think everyone should have a song of hers in their playlists and mixtapes.
I don't have a favorite song because I LOVE them all.

Worthy mentions;
Various Array and State of Condition
Jealous Girl is AMAZING

Album Notes #1

The music for the new album is all done.
I'm currently working on vocals and lyrics.

I've been taking small snippets of video of the vocal/lyrics process for a soon to be posted video blog.

I'm also looking for a drummer in either Philly or New York.
If you know anyone that you'd think would fit the bill please let them know!
